EVEN WALLS CAN HAVE SPIRIT STUFF LODGED INSIDE

I preached fairly often in a Mexican church where sin and unhappiness had occurred in the pastor’s family and church. The hurt, pain, suffering and consequences of sin had become lodged in the walls; they emanated despair, unhappiness and a sense of evil to all those who entered. The pastor and I, and later the pastor alone, spent a year casting those spirit things out of the walls. During that time, he also anointed the building everywhere with oil, following each anointing with prayer. It took an entire year before people could enter the building without feeling sad, uncomfortable, etc. The attacks and the sin that had occurred left a residue. We also anointed the people and preached healing during the year. After every service, the people would come forward and cry. A year later they were well—healed—and the pastor stopped the healing services. Healthy life resumed. He began to minister to the congregation in other ways.

THE WORD OF GOD

Using the authority God gives you, you can stop Satan in his tracks by what you say and do. Words have substance and spiritual meaning. With your mouth, you can overcome and defeat the enemy. The Bible says what we bind (or loose) on earth we also bind (or loose) in heaven (Matthew 19:19).

According to the Bible, the Word of God is spirit. One of the most powerful weapons you have is to speak the Word of God out loud in faith. The Word of God is a spirit thing that stops and even cuts the enemy; it also separates what is godly within you from the world and the enemy. You can’t fight the spirits with flesh and bone or other physical weapons: they don’t have a physical body. You fight them with prayer, with the Word of God, with your actions and words, and by exerting your authority over them and over the spirit world. The quality of your life will depend on what you do in this regard.

LIVING IN TWO WORLDS

You live in two worlds (or dimensions): physical (also known as natural) and spiritual.
  • The natural world is what you can see, discern and/or touch with your natural eyes and other physically-grounded senses
  • The spirit world is where your spirit lives (presently encapsulated in a human body); it’s the dimension where God, the angels of God and fallen angels live. The spirit world is made of a spirit substance; it has geography and spirit material. You can’t see it with natural eyes.

Both dimensions are controlled by laws. In the physical world, all things are governed by natural laws. The same applies to specific laws that govern the spirit world.
In the natural world, everything has an ending. All things decay because sin entered the world.

In the spirit world, spirit beings exist forever. Spirit beings – angels good and fallen (devils) and spirits of human beings – have eternal existence.

“Life,” in biblical terms, is not the same as eternal existence. All human spirits have eternal existence. “Life” refers to being connected to God. Given this understanding, outside of God no one has Life. God wants you to enter into a personal relationship with Him; He wants you to fuse yourself to Him, to become one with Him to receive Life.
