WORDS MOVE THE SPIRIT WORLD

The spirit world frequently functions on the basis of words. It is significant that the Bible tells us that Christ is the Word (verb – an action word). Think about it. The Bible in James 1:18 states, “Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth….” The greatest weapon you have is placing the
Word of God, the words that God gives you, and the authority of God in your mouth and heart (followed by whatever actions are required).

Your mouth can define or defile your life and determine the size of the victory you’ll achieve.

Meditate on the following:
“Look at ships; although they are large and driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires. Even so, the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body and sets on fire the course of nature (human lives and even nature itself)….” (James 3:4–6)

Beware: What you speak will guide your actions and the reactions and actions of those around you in both dimensions. Your words define much of your life.

GOD IS NOT EVIL

Never think that God is evil because he is allowing the presence and the work of the enemy. Satan is legally on earth due to the decision mankind made. It was mankind who chose to “know” good and evil. In tempting Jesus, Satan said to Him, “All this authority [over all the kingdoms of earth] I will give to You, and their glory, for this has been delivered to me….” What has happened and what is happening is not because of God’s wrath or desire, but our own decisions. This world mostly reflects man’s will, not God’s.

God is not double-minded or confused, manifesting Himself through various conflicting religions. Satan, the imposter god, is evil, a polluter and father of lies. He’s the creator of confusion and the many false paths to “god,” which are really only pathways to fallen angels.

SATAN'S PLAN

The work of Satan is to prevent you and others from knowing
(1) what you are (human spirits in a physical body)
(2) that you exist for eternity
(3) that there is a spirit dimension
(4) how the spirit dimension (world) functions
(5) who God is
(6) what Christ did for you on the cross
(7) who you are in Christ (children of God)
(8) what God has given you
(9) what God has for you as co-heir of His Kingdom (with and through Christ)
(10) how to get it.

The devil and his confederates act to keep you ignorant or deceived concerning the reality of your existence, and their existence, and the truth about God. They work to disorient you as to time, place, and yourself in relation to everything and especially to God to prevent you from understanding and receiving what God has for you.

KEY POINTS

Key points about the spirit world
• The spirit world is not random.
• There are spiritual laws that govern the spirit world in the same way there are natural laws that govern the natural world.
• The spirit world is orderly.
• The spirit world is as real as this world (but not more real).
• It is logical.
• As God honors, created and respects natural laws, so He honors created and respects spiritual laws.
• The laws that govern both worlds work in such a way that there is interchange between the two.
• Actions in one world (dimension) affect the other.
• There is a law, that of faith, which increases the exchange between the two worlds.
• Adam was able to walk and communicate freely with God, consciously living in both worlds.
• The introduction of sin changed the spirit world and the physical world.
• All human beings are subject to both worlds.
• In Christ Jesus we jump from the regular application of the laws (physical and spiritual) to the rules established by and through what Jesus did.

EVEN WALLS CAN HAVE SPIRIT STUFF LODGED INSIDE

I preached fairly often in a Mexican church where sin and unhappiness had occurred in the pastor’s family and church. The hurt, pain, suffering and consequences of sin had become lodged in the walls; they emanated despair, unhappiness and a sense of evil to all those who entered. The pastor and I, and later the pastor alone, spent a year casting those spirit things out of the walls. During that time, he also anointed the building everywhere with oil, following each anointing with prayer. It took an entire year before people could enter the building without feeling sad, uncomfortable, etc. The attacks and the sin that had occurred left a residue. We also anointed the people and preached healing during the year. After every service, the people would come forward and cry. A year later they were well—healed—and the pastor stopped the healing services. Healthy life resumed. He began to minister to the congregation in other ways.

THE WORD OF GOD

Using the authority God gives you, you can stop Satan in his tracks by what you say and do. Words have substance and spiritual meaning. With your mouth, you can overcome and defeat the enemy. The Bible says what we bind (or loose) on earth we also bind (or loose) in heaven (Matthew 19:19).

According to the Bible, the Word of God is spirit. One of the most powerful weapons you have is to speak the Word of God out loud in faith. The Word of God is a spirit thing that stops and even cuts the enemy; it also separates what is godly within you from the world and the enemy. You can’t fight the spirits with flesh and bone or other physical weapons: they don’t have a physical body. You fight them with prayer, with the Word of God, with your actions and words, and by exerting your authority over them and over the spirit world. The quality of your life will depend on what you do in this regard.

LIVING IN TWO WORLDS

You live in two worlds (or dimensions): physical (also known as natural) and spiritual.
  • The natural world is what you can see, discern and/or touch with your natural eyes and other physically-grounded senses
  • The spirit world is where your spirit lives (presently encapsulated in a human body); it’s the dimension where God, the angels of God and fallen angels live. The spirit world is made of a spirit substance; it has geography and spirit material. You can’t see it with natural eyes.

Both dimensions are controlled by laws. In the physical world, all things are governed by natural laws. The same applies to specific laws that govern the spirit world.
In the natural world, everything has an ending. All things decay because sin entered the world.

In the spirit world, spirit beings exist forever. Spirit beings – angels good and fallen (devils) and spirits of human beings – have eternal existence.

“Life,” in biblical terms, is not the same as eternal existence. All human spirits have eternal existence. “Life” refers to being connected to God. Given this understanding, outside of God no one has Life. God wants you to enter into a personal relationship with Him; He wants you to fuse yourself to Him, to become one with Him to receive Life.
