WIN THE VICTORY OVER DEATH

The issue is not whether God can do or bless, the issue is will you receive what God freely offers? To receive the fullness of God’s blessings, you must be willing to change and become the new person that God wants you to be: someone who can receive, keep and live the blessings of God. This requires work. The Bible says that our work is to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, not just believe in Jesus but to believe in all He said and did.

At the moment you allow Jesus into your heart, you win the victory over death (because you have eternal life).

1 John 4:4 says, “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater that he who is in the world.”

As long as you stay with God, you maintain that victory, but the rest of the victory will be life-long in achieving; in fact, upon conversion, your battle against evil intensifies. (Satan doesn’t like to lose; it infuriates him, so he makes big plans to destroy your resolve, to derail your effectiveness, and destroy your faith.)

CHRIST IS THE ONLY DOOR

Christ is the only door through which we have victory over this world’s systems and Satan’s way of doing things. Because of the cross, we can leap from death to life. We enter as sinners and condemned (separated from God); we come out forgiven and free. We enter sick and emerge with the power and authority to be healthy and whole. We enter filled with sin and come out clean and being filled with God. We enter under the devil’s authority and come out a conqueror over the devil, his ways of doing things, and the garbage that he has put in our lives. The cross is the point of forgiveness, removal of sin and its stain, and of power. It is where we get united with God, and through Christ’s death on it have access to the blessings, answers and the help that all human beings desire. If we follow Christ in and with faith, we have access to all the blessings of His kingdom.

Satan is on the other side of the cross. Because he is evil he is sentenced and bound from the cross, so he hates the cross and grace. He hates God and he hates us even more because we have the option to go through the cross to life, leaving death and the dead behind; he doesn’t. There is nothing good, interesting, kind or noble in or about the devil: he is simply evil, out to destroy God’s creation—you and everything and everyone he can get his hands on.

This promised new life, with authority over the devil and his ways, belongs to you if and when you elect to take it and begin to fight to leave behind the ungodly parts of your human nature, your inherited life, your “own” life, and the world with its bondages and ties that imprison you.

THROUGH GOD WE GET GOD

God the Father through Jesus’ sacrifice wants to give you a truly good life: fellowship with Himself, love, peace, joy, freedom from the fear of death, financial provision, acceptance, friends and yourself. As you serve Him, He offers you your true self.

The reality is that the roles, identities, activities, and attitudes that you and I have accepted — the mindless or one-dimensional life, the endless search for love, the drinking, drugs, sex, power, money, endless adventure, etc. — all are errant attempts to find a good and abundant life. We live lives of sin trying to find peace, pleasure, and all the rest. Through faith and trusting God, He gives us the focus and relationship to delete the unnecessary and un-useful stuff (roles, un-useful activities, improper sex, drinking, escape, etc.) and gives us what those things often promise but cannot deliver.

In God & through God, we lose the sin & its ultimate destructiveness, to get God & what He has for us here.

GOD CAME INTO HIS OWN CREATION

It makes a good movie...

God came into His own creation in a human body to rescue it for the purpose of freeing us from the power of darkness and to take us into His kingdom (Col. 1:13). To do so, He had to do some things in time and space (here on earth) and in the spirit world (we will see what later). In His time on earth he proved Himself to be God through miracles, signs and wonders manifesting power over heaven, earth and death.

It isn't a movie though. It did happen, and we can read the whole thing right here in The New Testament of The Bible.

GOD IS REAL, BUT WHO IS HE?

I practice law. I deal with evidence, part of which is testimony. If there are ten people who testify to a murder, even without a body, there will be a conviction. All religions, witches, warlocks, and spiritualists testify as to a spirit world, spirits, and some God or gods. To say there is no God requires complete rejection of their testimony! You simply can’t get there and be intellectually honest. The only real question is, “Who is God?”

Jesus is the second person of the Triune (three in One) God. All three co-inhabit and co-occupy all of existence inside and outside of time and space; they have co-existed forever; they are of the same substance (spirit); have the same purposes, thoughts, desires and heart. There is no division and there never has been any division or separation between them (except perhaps at the cross when Jesus became sin for us); they are all completely and equally good, holy, kind, just, and all powerful (within the limits and systems that the three-person God alone has set).  […] Jesus’ acts while on earth and His continued acts in our lives show He is God.

NEITHER DEATH NOR LIFE

“For I am persuaded that neither death nor life,
nor angels nor principalities (ruling spirits) nor powers
(devils), nor things present nor things to come… shall
be able to separate us from the love of God which
is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

- Romans 8:38
