JUSTICE AND LOVE OF GOD
Some years ago I was a speaker at a Mexican kid's group that had an vacation/escape weekend in the Mexican mountains. At 9 PM we went over to the little community's basketball court. On the way back I encounter about 20 men smoking marijuana and drinking tequila. They were between the ages of about 18 and 40. I know a lot about marijuana and tequila, so I decided to talk to them about the quality of the weed. There was one kid, the youngest, who was filthy dirty, dress in almost in rags, who was very drunk. He reeked of body odor. He had a bottle in one hand and a joint in the other. I was repulsed and judged him as disgusting.
The Lord spoke to me and said, "He was abandoned as a baby and never had anyone to love him. Tell him that I love him."
"Huh Lord. Look at him," was the response of my heart.
The message to me remained the same I told the kid, "God tells me that he loves you."
The kids stared at me. I reassured him of the love of God.
The justice of God in that case was to forgive and love someone who never had a chance.
Perhaps you feel like you are not worth anything and you even despise yourself? Have you ever considered that your battles that God sees you as an object of love and mercy.
GOD LOVES YOU AND SEES YOU AND ME IN OUR AWFUL BATTLES. HE IS ROOTING FOR US AND IS EXTENDING HIS LOVE TO US.
