The spirit is the key.
It is your spirit that animates you in the physical realm. Your physical body
is the vehicle (think personal automobile) that gives you direct access to the
physical part of this planet. Your physical body doesn’t continue as a viable
entity without the animating influence of you spiritual body – it just returns
to dirt.
Note, your spirit body
has ears and eyes made of spirit. Your spirit body can listen, see and
understand what is happening in the spirit world. God’s plan is for the Holy Spirit, joined with your spirit, to prudently
direct you. Your spirit, strengthened by God’s presence, aware and awake in
God, and quickened to action by God’s desires, is to direct your soul and
physical body.
In the natural world,
without the presence of the indwelling god (That is the God of the Bible living
inside a person), a body and/or soul will direct itself to satisfy its own
natural desires.
