IN CHRIST WE...

1. We are sons of God; He is joined to us with His love, life and power flowing in us.

2. We have a new nature.

3. The love of sinful pleasure has died within us.

4. We are loved.

5. We are co-heirs with Christ; God wants us to have the victory that Christ enjoyed.

6. In Christ the spirits are subject to us.

7. In Christ we have power over all of Satan’s power.

8. In Christ we have authority and power over all of Satan’s work, including sicknesses and pain.

9. We are beneficiaries of the blessings of God.

10. We are a new creation!

The key to receiving what God has for you is to act in faith with faith.

FIX YOUR MIND ON HIM

Fix your mind on God and the truth that God alone offers you a truly good and abundant life. Understand the battle and the weapons used against you and the weapons you have (2 Cor. 10:3 & 4). You are blind to the spirit realm and fight until you understand the unseen; how it works and how you address it. You learn what to do from the Bible and Holy Spirit-led teaching. As you read along in this book, I’ll be throwing spotlights on various godly tried-and-true strategies.

God wants to give you spiritual gifts that will give you spiritual eyes, ears, and weapons. It may be that the spiritual gifts referred to in I Corinthians chapters 12, 13, & 14 exist to endow you with spiritual senses. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is an additional degree and special manifestation of the Holy Spirit. When gifts that come through the baptism and infilling of the Holy Spirit are fully functioning, the people of God are an effective offensive and defensive fighting unit. Since Life/life is much governed by Holy Spirit power vs. unclean spirit power, the battle of darkness is to limit the Holy Spirit’s influence over you as much as possible.

Through understanding your true environment, the authority you have in Christ Jesus and your decision to act (exercise your will in alignment with God’s will) you throw a monkey wrench to interrupt Satan’s plans. And much of what he achieves, you can undo through the power of the cross, your spiritual inheritance, spiritual gifts, and the great power of God that He uses to benefit you.

SCRIPTURE & SUMMARY TO LIGHT YOUR WAY

A Bible passage to light your way...

“...I, the LORD, will hear them; I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them. I will open rivers in desolate heights, and fountains in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water. I will plant in the wilderness the cedar and the acacia tree, the myrtle and the oil tree; I will set in the desert the cypress tree and the pine and the box tree together....”
Isaiah 41:17–19

What God is saying here is that He wants desert hills and dry lands to spring to life; He wants the arid parts of our lives to rebound, to become lush and robust – that is God’s work, but we have a part to get what God has for us.

WIN THE VICTORY OVER DEATH

The issue is not whether God can do or bless, the issue is will you receive what God freely offers? To receive the fullness of God’s blessings, you must be willing to change and become the new person that God wants you to be: someone who can receive, keep and live the blessings of God. This requires work. The Bible says that our work is to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, not just believe in Jesus but to believe in all He said and did.

At the moment you allow Jesus into your heart, you win the victory over death (because you have eternal life).

1 John 4:4 says, “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater that he who is in the world.”

As long as you stay with God, you maintain that victory, but the rest of the victory will be life-long in achieving; in fact, upon conversion, your battle against evil intensifies. (Satan doesn’t like to lose; it infuriates him, so he makes big plans to destroy your resolve, to derail your effectiveness, and destroy your faith.)
