I've been reading John a lot, and below are a couple of themes I keep coming across…
Jesus came from another
place, sent by the Father to this world to live as a man. He came to tell about the Father and the
place he came from, then to do a work to allow mankind to go to that other
place. He then returned to it and opened
the way for people to go to that place (heaven). The work he did was to arrange forgiveness of
our sins through our recognition of them and our acceptance of him and his
death as payment for our sins – this is for those who want it. It is free of
charge. A gift from God.
